17 weeks!!!!!????!!!! Yep my baby is 4 months old! I can hardly believe it. He is no longer a newborn! He is now at the age where babies start to explore more and get more mobile. Oh boy. lol I am oh so exited though I have to admit.
Developments: Bear can now grab things! He is not very good at it but he is getting better. He has grabbed the little puppy toy hanging from his car seat and he can also grab large toys that are sat in his lap. He also is working on putting these things into his mouth! He has way better neck control now and can hold his neck up for about 5-10 minutes before getting tired. He is still working on rolling over but he can all ready roll over from his tummy to his back but is not quite to the stage of rolling from his back to his tummy, but he is close! He is laughing a lot more now too! And talking more also. He is still trying to work on holding his own bottle but is still shaky in that area. He is also really getting into putting things in his mouth. He has his fists in his mouth 24/7 now, but we think this may be because he has sore gums from teething. He is starting to arch his back and wiggle around so we now have to make very sure that he is always fastened in where ever his is.
Places he went this week: This week Bear went to another festival this one was kinda lame it was called Education in the Park. But it was fun and we got some cute pics. He also went to McDonalds and dinned in for the first time.
New People he met: This week Bear met his great-grandmother and great-grandfather for the first time! They came down and visited from Puerto Rico just to see him. He also met a great uncle that he never met before.
Growth: Bear is now 14lbs and 10oz! I am starting to think he is weighing on the more heavy side of the percentile chart! Because I know at one year babies are typically about 20lbs. And he is well over half way there and not even 6 months old! He is still in size 0-3 months but we found out this weekend that he also fits into some size 3-6 months tops all though the pants are still big. He is still in size 2 diapers.
Sleep: His sleep is getting a little better he is going back to only waking at 4:30 for a bottle but some nights he is still waking at around 1 AM. We now think that this may be due to the teething. We started swadling him in the daytime when he is really cranky and just won't go down for a nap. This is something we never did before but he is starting to fight his naps more and more now.
Health: His health seems great. According to the doctor he is very healthy. We take him for his 4 month shots and a physical next week.
How we are adjusting: The crying non-stop that has come with the teething has been hard on us but we are getting through it one day at a time. It can be frustrating having him cry and not being able to console him or calm him down, but at the end of the day seeing his smile makes all the frustration melt away as if he was just a happy little baby all day.
