Baby's First Easter

We all know Easter was 2 weeks ago, but if you have been reading my blog you should know I am super late to post about stuff due to how busy I am these days. Like I always say though... Better late than never at all!

March 31st was Bear's first Easter. It was also the last day of Spring Break (I will be posting about Spring Break soon I promise).

We are not really Easter people, I remember last year Anthony came to my house for Easter and my sister and I made him an Easter dinner. It was the first time I had ever cooked for him :]

This year, we wanted to do a little something special for Bear but did not have more than a few dollars to spend. We got a flyer from our apartment complex saying that they were having a free Easter egg hunt and cook out for the residents.

We thought "Well that will be perfect!" We even had an Easter bucket from last year that we could use to get him eggs with. We knew he was too young for an egg hunt, but we just wanted to do it for the novelty and to take cute pictures.

The event was to take place from 1 to 3 PM. So we figured we would go at like 1:30 or so when Bear woke up from his afternoon nap.

When we got there (the complex pavilion) we saw a mess of people sitting around a picnic table eating burgers. We grabbed a burger that left Anthony hungry for more. After eating our burger we sat around for a few minutes and nothing was happening so we went to the office to pay our rent. Once in the office we asked about the egg hunt and they told us it was over all ready! That they did it at exactly 1. So that was out the window.

In the end we decided to walk to Wal-Mart (since it is so close and Bear was all ready in his stroller) and buy supplies to make Anthony another burger because he was just dying for one. And we also bought a cheapo $1 bag of Easter eggs to take pictures with.

When we got back I made Anthony his burger than we headed over to the front of the complex to take Easter pictures because everywhere else, the grass is littered with dog poop.

Anthony and I did not dress up but so the photo's look kinda weird and not to mention the cars in the background and the sun in our eyes!
Someone took a family pic for us but they only took one shot and I had my eyes closed in it so that was a scrap :[
In the end Easter was one big FAIL. But at least we can look back at the pictures someday and laugh at how bad it went.
***NOTE: I finally posted the pics for Bear's 12 week update (13 weeks and 14 weeks will be up later today or tomorrow once I can get to emptying the pics from my SD card), click on the "Bear's weekly update" tab to see them.***
