MTM: 1st Ever Muffin Tin Meals

Back in November 2011 I remember being flat broke having just moved into a new apartment. But I wanted to try a muffin tin meal SOOO bad. So I went on down to the Dollar Tree and bought a cheapo muffin tin (they don't sell them anymore either boo) and a few snacks as well. I then went home and whipped up my first ever muffin tin meal. I am really glad I took pictures too, I didn't have a blog back then but I wanted to share the experience with my sister so I took some pics to send her and I just happened to have stumbled across them on in an old file in my computer last night.

And here it is!

Top: french fries, peanut butter and Cheddar crackers, and orange chicken

Center: ketchup for dipping

Bottom: lemon pound cake, yellow rice, and Reeses Pieces

I loved my muffin tin meal so much I made one everyday for the rest of the weak. And I took pics too! Here are the rest of the meals I made that week:

 Top: heart shaped mini pancakes, chicken flavored crackers, peach cobbler

Bottom: chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries, and more mini pancakes

Top: sugar for dipping pancakes, a few chicken flavored crackers and a few peanut butter ones, and heart shaped mini pancakes

Bottom: peach cobbler, pasta salad, and a chicken strip

Top: french fries, chicken nuggets, and lemon pound cake

Middle: mustard for dipping, and sugar for the pancakes (I don't like syrup)

Bottom: Snack Pack pudding, pasta salad, and mini heart shaped pancakes

Unfortunately right after making the last meal, my muffin tin rusted and I was unable to get a new one. I cant wait to get my tax return so I can buy a new tin and start making meals again! I also cant wait to see Anthony's reaction to this odd way of eating. :]

Muffin Tin Monday: Snack

This weeks MTM is a quick snack in my favorite plate :]

 Top: Jalapeno Cheese and Cheddar Cheese (still get those cheese cravings like everyday!)
Left: Black Olives, Fresh Pineapple
Bottom: Sliced Banana and Kiwi

Muffin Tin Monday: Breakfast

I did a breakfast themed MTM today :]

I know this is an AWFUL picture, it was taken from my cell and the lighting was really bad but I was in a hurry when I took this pic. I have got to her the whole picture thing under control.

In this meal:
Center: oatmeal, pineapple chunks
Top: summer sausage chunks, pancakes, oatmeal
Bottom: yogurt with sprinkles, and cheese cubes

Muffin Tin Monday: Outback Steakhouse

This week's Muffin Tin Monday is more geared toward adults. It features a surf and turf from the restaurant Outback Steakhouse.

In this Muffin Tin Meal:
     Top: Coconut Shrimp
          Middle: Sweet potato fries, steak, and zesty sauce
               Bottom: Blooming onion, and garlic mashed potatoes

Muffin Tin Monday: Thanksgiving Leftovers

Ok, so I will admit, the only thing that was actually from Thanksgiving in the MTM was the turkey. I actually made the mashed potatoes and green beens when I made the muffin tin meal. :]

In this muffin tin meal: chopped turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and vanilla yogurt with sprinkles

I finally got my camera up and running! I was being lazy when taking the picture though because I didn't want the food to get cold ;p I think it is still better than my cell pics though.

P.S. These stars do not hold much, that's why there are so many. This was not that much food at all (for an adult) if would probably be a lot for a child though.

Muffin Tin Monday

Ok, ok I will admit, I am a little too old for Muffin Tin Meals, but I just love them too much not to do a MTM post every Monday on my blog.

Some of you may be wondering "What in the world is a Muffin Tin Meal?!?" or thinking "Muffin Tin Monday...  All though I do have TONS of fun creating these meals for myself, I can't help but to be sad whenever I make them because I know Seth would enjoy this a lot. I do still plan on making these on a regular basis. I feel as thought running away from things that trigger the thoughts of Seth is not the way to go, but rather to face them head on. I do not avoid actives because they remind me of him, I just do them anyways and attempt to overcome my sadness. I will not say that everyday is a challenge, because really its not, I tend to suppress all my thoughts and memories of him (yes I know this is extremely bad but if I did not do it I don't think I would get through the day). There are times however, times like these where I make Muffin Tin Meals that the suppressing just does not work and I find myself simply wishing he was here to enjoy the fun with me.

I will admit, I do not actually have a muffin tin, as mine rusted. Don't worry it was a cheapo Dollar Store one anyways :) And since, Anthony and I are currently in a financial hard place due to me having to take off two months of work for the birth of our son coming up in January, I do not have have the funds to buy a new one. So I this a cute fish plate in place of a muffin tin and wasn't able to buy items for a specific theme.

Top: grapes & habanaro white cheddar chunks
Right: hotdogs & banana pepper rings
Bottom: salad and mild cheddar cheese chunks (love my cheese!)

I cant wait to give one of these to Anthony once he moves in with me and see his reaction. He's such a manly man lol so I think he may get a kick out of me serving him what some people may see as a toddlers meal :) I am also very exited to try these out on Bear! I just cant wait for his big arrival and spending every precious moment possible with him! Only about two more years until he can enjoy Muffin Tin Meals but I think its worth the wait, in the meal time I'll just stick to making them for myself and stock up cute ideas for the future.

FRUIT FLY UPDATE: I came home from Kissimme this weekend to find (almost) all of the fruit flies were gone! I didn't see any in the kitchen and only found about 3 in my bedroom. The trap that I made had no fly corpses in it at all, so their disappearance is a complete mystery to me! But hey I'm not complaining! :D

ROOMMATE UPDATE: Remember how exited I was to find out that my roommates were moving out? Well turns out they didn't get the house :(. This is good and bad. (but mostly bad). It will mean I will have more much needed money but it also means my house has to stay a wreck for longer than expected. SIGH. And I was so epically exited to clean the place and start my nesting process. Lets just hope they are gone by December 1st. If they are not gone by then, I will have a real problem on my hands as my baby's due date is quickly approaching and I need to get the house and nursery ready for his big arrival. We shall see what happens.
